Lonsdale area man killed in crash
LeRoy J. Winterfeldt, 31, of Route 1, Lonsdale, was killed in a one-car accident which occurred early Saturday morning, on Highway 21, in Erin township.
Winterfeldt reportedly lost control of the car he was driving, at a point near the junction with County Road 4, about four miles north of Shieldsville. The car veered off the right side of the road and rolled over.
The 1970 Ford was demolished.
A son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Winterfeldt of Erin township, he resided on the family farm. He was employed with Midland Glass, at Shakopee.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn, three daughters and a son; his parents; one brother, Alvin Winterfeldt of Lonsdale; and a sister, Mrs. Vern Schleeter (Donna) of Arlington.
Funeral services were held on Monday, at 2:00 p.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church in Montgomery, Interment was in St. John's cemetery.
